Alex and Noelle with Sunday

We were so pleased with the improvement to Sunday’s quality of life following her behavioural therapy diagnosis and treatment. We had previously tried a number of other things to try and treat Sunday’s anxiety and finally saw results once she was on her medication.

Sarah (Marasy Cat Colony Carer)

Just a very quick thank you for the wonderful effort and content that went into the seminar last week. It was absolutely invaluable to see life from the perspective of the cats themselves and not ours.

Many thanks again for such an enlightening session.

All the best.

Rona with Millie

Dr. Katrin gave a voice to my anxious, other-cat-hating, litter-box-avoiding cat and helped me to see, understand and change. I was in a state of despair before meeting Dr. Katrin and now I have an ally, who is incredibly generous with her time and attention, and who equips me – on many levels – to manage and handle what was once a very problematic pet!

Thalia & Marcus with George, Milly, Lillu and LJ

With a household of 4 cats and the eldest having just been diagnosed with CKD, we wanted to have a behaviour consultation to ensure a calm environment. Dr Katrin helped us to pinpoint triggers, leading to aggressive behaviour and put in place measures to reduce such behaviour. Within a few days we noticed a difference, with less aggression and a more relaxed atmosphere. This continued to improve further as time passed.

Janine Toutikian and Bruno

“Absolutely the best experience for my anxious pupster! We have been working with Dr Katrin for a few months now on his anxiety, but that was always at home and yes, I also recommend her for treating your dogs fear and anxiety issues. Today we had our first visit at the clinic for a full medical check up and everything was prepared so well for Bruno, from treats to cuddles, time taken etc to make his vet visit an amazing experience. He was super relaxed at the end, Dr Katrin and the nurse were so calming and gave Bruno time to settle in with them and nothing felt rushed or forced. Thank you for making Bruno and me feel like we are your number one concern!”

Farah Sawy and Storm

“I’m so happy that we have such an amazing place in Abu Dhabi! Everyone at the clinic is super gentle and Storm never feels any anxiety or fear when going to the vet. She’s actually super excited! As for their trainer, Maja is simply the best! First of all, she got Storm to love her and that was the most important thing to me. After she created that bond between them, Maja followed and shaped the behavior shown by Storm and used positive reinforcement to train her. She never yelled at her or used any force ever! The training isn’t just for the puppy though, you need to train with your pup regularly if you want a well behaved dog, who will be safe with you and on her/his own. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!”

Collete with Oreo

Oreo came to us from a Rescue organisation (aged 5 months) after a pretty rough start in her young life. It wasn’t surprising that some of her behaviour was “challenging” but working with an animal behaviourist/vet gave us a very different insight into the physical and emotional causes of her behaviour and how to deal with them in a gentle way without causing her any additional fear and anxiety. She has blossomed into a wonderful dog who is so loving and giving and we are blessed to have her. We continue to work with Dr Katrin (and her fantastic team) to help her become the very best version of herself. Thank you so much to Dr Katrin, Maja and the German Vets team for their kindness and support!

Eileen and Mutley

Finding out about Dr Katrin and her team has been the best thing that has happened for me and my canine companion! Mutley was very anxious and was developing aggressive traits towards some people. I was at my wit’s end, upset and very worried about my beautiful boy. From many honest and open conversations and observations, Dr Katrin was able unpack his body language (and mine!) and guide me towards understanding his body language and triggers. She shared strategies for me to deal with any potential triggers and stress points. As a result of this, and with much patience and time, Mutley is becoming a more confident, happy and calm boy. He is still a work in progress and I am learning so much about his beautiful personality every day. Attending Dr. Katrin’s clinic has been thoroughly enriching, educational and memorable as my relationship with Mutley and his trust in me has continued to grow. The results so far have been amazing, and I know that I can always reach out to Dr. Katrin for advice and support. Thank you so much!

Kate

My dog, Tati, is anxious. Alarmingly so! I was advised to visit Dr. Katrin and I turned up almost as anxious as the dog! Dr. Katrin is working with me to unpick his anxieties and to teach me to understand his body language. There is a lot to learn!

Tati is needing medication to overcome his issues, but I am so grateful to see him slowly become more confident and less anxious. There is some way to go yet, it has only been 3 weeks, but the advice from Dr. Katrin has allowed small victories to occur. The playing of classical, calming music has been a triumph!

I also appreciate the fact that Dr. Katrin has made time for me in and out of office hours, giving me reassurance when it feels rather overwhelming.

I do happily recommend Dr. Katrin & the German Vet Behaviour Service.

Frances and Ian

Dr Katrin’s knowledge and understanding of animal behaviour has helped transformed our large cat, Clyde, from an excessively possessive and aggressive cat into gentler giant, who is calmer and more tolerant of the other cats. Her methods have been mixture of understanding the body language of the animal, positive reinforcement techniques, education to owners on triggers and how to defuse situations in a calming way as well as holistic medication to improve the wellbeing of the animal. Dr Katrin cares about the owners as well as the animals and has provided us with invaluable information on how to understand each animal’s individual feelings and needs. We understand our pets better having engaged with Dr Katrin and would recommend her to anyone experiencing problematic issues with their pets.

Natasha, Spokie and Leila

Spokie (it means little ghost in Afrikaans) was a feral cat which I rescued from a basement parking garage. She was very aggressive and soon I realized that I was out of my depth with how to handle her. I would many times wonder if I made the right decision and one day I spoke to Nora at the German Vet. She mentioned that Dr Katrin will be able to evaluate Spokie and give some advice. It was life changing!! Dr Katrin came to the house and with her guidance, I started understanding Spokie’s cues of when to touch and when not to. I read her body language when she is in a good mood or when I should rather leave her in her corner. Dr Katrin made suggestions on how to rearrange the room so that Spokie could get to places where she could calm down and hide if she needed to. She’s receiving medication which is managing her extreme anxiety and I am even able to touch her, she sits on my lap and she loves playing, something I never thought I will see. Administering the medication wasn’t easy in the beginning but with Dr Katrin’s guidance, it’s much easier now. Visiting the clinic is like visiting friends. The fear free option takes the anxiety away of travelling with cats in a car. I appreciate that the clinic makes such an effort to ensure the animals and their owners are relaxed and taken care of. I am so grateful to Dr Katrin and the German Veterinary clinic staff for all the help and guidance the past few years. Please continue this amazing service and friendships.
